Desk 2.0

After finishing Grainne's desk I started out on my gargantuan desk. It took quite a bit longer than anticipated, as I made the tops quite quickly and felt that I could use the computer. So I made make-shift legs, which worked for a while. But the end of the project was in sight so I knocked up some legs and she was done. I'm so stoked with how it's come out and that I made it all from free pallets.

Do you see cables? I didn't think so. All cables hidden bellow the desk, nice and neat.

In other news, I start my new job on Tuesday. Here's to saving the world and living the 5 days weekend dream.

Raglan Chic

It's a new year and, as the phrase goes, a new workspace. That's how it goes right? In our new digs, we have a beautiful office space attached to our room but was somewhat lacking in sturdy desk areas. So over the last few days, I've been stripping down pallets and repurposing them for Grainne's desk. The views from here are amazing and this workspace really utilises all the scenic potential. Though I'm not sure how much work will be being done with the planes and ships sailing past.

The style really adds the Raglan aesthetic to the room, something that we both are very keen to surround ourselves with. Here's to the continuation of building missions around the house. Next up my desk.

Whales in New South Wales

Whilst travelling back from Europe, we dropped in on Grainne's sister's place on the New South Wales south coast. We have been dying to visit her since she moved there. During our time there we encountered many species that we wouldn't have dreamed to see. We went humpback whale watching, swimming with seals, surfing with dolphins and spotting all the bird and marsupials that Australia has to offer. Sadly, surfing with the dolphins wasn't documented.

Moving To Wellington

We're home. At last. Back in beautiful New Zealand and just in time for summer. We have moved into the most amazing house with the most amazing housemates. After being away for 8 months we are very excited to start afresh in a new city and hit the ground running with our projects.

Our room comes equipt with an attached office that we will convert into our studio. Outside we have a vegetable garden, shed and sitting area. The garden was very overgrown when we arrived.

We stripped back the overgrown weeds, vines and trees in the seating area, which let more light in and uncovered the bench along the back wall.

The bench is in major need of treatment but we were unable to do this yet due to the infrequency of Wellington's good weather days. We love the nature of the house and its inhabitants spirit regarding "home improvements". There are areas that we see great potential in in the house and garden and cannot wait to get stuck into fixing them up.
